Resident Tuition Waivers

A limited number of Resident Tuition Waivers are available for graduate students who meet the requirements for residency in the State of California, regardless of documentation status. The waiver applies to state tuition only and does not cover University fees. Students in state-supported programs are eligible to apply. Students in self-supported programs are not eligible (Business Analytics, Fire Protection Engineering, Packaging Value Chain, Quantitative Economics, Taxation). For more information about self-supported programs, please refer to the Graduate Education Handbook under Registration and Fees.

Recipients of the California State University Grant (SUG) are not eligible to receive a Resident Tuition Waiver.

Non-Resident Tuition Waivers

A limited number of Non-Resident Tuition Waivers are available for graduate students. The waiver is defined as a reduction in tuition fees for non-resident students to the resident rate. The waiver provides financial support for highly qualified applicants from outside the State of California, regardless of documentation status. Students in self-supported programs are not eligible (Business Analytics, Fire Protection Engineering, Packaging Value Chain, Quantitative Economics, Taxation). Application for Non-Resident Tuition Waiver

Address the following criteria in your application

Scholastic Achievement

Only students with a 3.0 and above will be considered.

Accomplishments

Significant accomplishments such as research or work experience.

Recognition

Recognition of excellence in your field by receipt of academic awards and activities in Professional Societies.

Requirements

  1. Student must be engaged in full-time studies toward their degree
  2. Student must have a minimum of 8 units per quarter
